Child
/ Adolescent Psychological Assessment / Psychotherapy
Dr. Bryers orientation is cognitive-behavioral
which means that she focuses on finding concrete strategies for helping
kids think/behave differently to feel better and make healthy choices
in their lives. She emphasizes short-term goals and regularly discusses
treatment objectives with parents/caregivers to ensure that progress is
being made. During the first session, Dr. Bryer will meet with the parents/caregivers
to develop a full understanding of the concerns about the child and to
develop a strategy for tackling the problem. When parent-child relations
are particularly tense, Dr. Bryer may sit down with parents and kids
together to diffuse the conflict.
