Child / Adolescent Psychological Assessment / Psychotherapy

Dr. Bryer’s orientation is cognitive-behavioral which means that she focuses on finding concrete strategies for helping kids think/behave differently to feel better and make healthy choices in their lives. She emphasizes short-term goals and regularly discusses treatment objectives with parents/caregivers to ensure that progress is being made. During the first session, Dr. Bryer will meet with the parents/caregivers to develop a full understanding of the concerns about the child and to develop a strategy for tackling the problem. When parent-child relations are particularly tense, Dr. Bryer may sit down with parents and kids together to diffuse the conflict.

Dr. Bryer specializes in treating middle and high school age children who are struggling with the following problems:
Anxiety
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder
Depression

Bipolar Disorder
Low Self Esteem

Behavioral Outbursts

Peer Pressure including Bullying

Social Skills Deficits

Adjusting to Puberty

Learning Disorders/ADHD

Fees
Dr. Bryer is out-of-network with insurance companies. However, she does have a BC/BS provider number to facilitate reimbursement.
